first third album, Hospice, seems to be the heroic storyline of a man loosing a loved-one to cancer. Instead, when the lead singer of the Brooklyn Based band, Peter Silberman, was asked about the mystery women, he openly described it as a metaphor for loved lost and the end of a relationship.
As the Antlers prepare to release a new album, and details begin to emerge, I see that the new album is a rewriting of the bands style. While Hospice is complex and soft, Burst Apart, the new album, seems to be sexy and mysterious
At SXSW this year, a music festival in Austin, the band performed the new album in its entirety, which is outright in its boldness and markedly courageous. The whole show can be found over at NPR and can be downloaded in the links.
I’m overly excited to see more. Filled with sweeping guitars and epic vocals, its sure bet for a great album. Enjoy the two leaked studio songs from the album after the jump, and more to come later.
